Using Search Option 1 allows you to find information for a specific doctor, hospital, or other facility. If you suspect that there may be a lot of similar names, you can narrow your search geographically using the Optional search fields on the right (State and County). You may also include the provider's first name in the text box (use a space between words).

The provider search will also search any words you enter in the text box against the practice name field.

It is better to use part of a word than to guess at a spelling. In cases in which you are unsure of a spelling, use a small portion of the name or word of which you are certain of the spelling.

Example:

If you're looking for Dr. James Smith in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, you could start your search by simply typing "Smith" in the Name box within Search Option 1 and then click the Search button.

Since there are so many Smiths, you can select the county and state, as well narrowing your results.

Or, since there are probably many Smiths in most counties, you could include the first name in the text box as well.

Understanding Your Search Results
The results of your search will be displayed on your screen with up to 10 providers per page. To view more results, hit the "Next Results" button. If there are too many results, you can narrow your search on the results page.

The search results will be returned in order of the closest match (any exact match with the string you enter in the text box) followed by more approximate matches, ending with results that include all of the words you entered in any order.
